Stacks
An invitation to encounter someone who doesn’t happen to be in the room.

Books · Biography · Time · Participation
A life is more than a sentence.
Stacks takes the book as a space for an individual life: memories, relationships, interests, and forms of self-expression. A page for each day makes the length of incarceration something a visitor can hold.
The developing installation asks how a room of books might become an encounter with people whose absence is too often taken for granted.
The person
Individual stories, loved ones, and self-expression.
The time
One page for each day of a sentence.
The encounter
An invitation to read, handle, and stay with a life.
In development
Help shape the next stage.
