Self Portrait: On the Yard
Water Soluble Oil on Cotton Paper
10 ¼” x 14”
During one of the rare moments we were let out during the COVID lockdown, I found myself sitting alone on a bench in the prison yard. I looked down and saw my shadow stretching across the field—just a faint outline on the dirt. It made me think about the way I exist in the free world: distant, indirect, barely there. My voice, my presence, my art—all filtered through letters, phone calls, and secondhand stories. This piece is a reflection on that fleeting imprint, like a shadow cast in passing. It's a portrait of absence, of presence, of the quiet ways we try to be seen.
** Please note: All paper works are unmatted and without frame. Images are here so you can get an idea of artwork size and possible ways to display in your home.
