Mixed Media (Image transfer, Acrylic) on Cotton Paper

12” × 8”

I discovered the image transfer technique almost by accident—just reading the fine print on an art supply label about what acrylic medium could do. That curiosity led me into a new process, and this was the first piece that came out of it. For years, I consumed media in all its forms, especially images of women—constructed, idealized, unreachable. I bought into a version of sexuality that had little to do with connection and everything to do with fantasy. Looking back, I realize how much that shaped the way I saw people, and how often I overlooked the real ones. In this piece, I transferred an image onto paper, then scratched and scraped parts of it away to reveal the paint beneath—a way of peeling back the illusion. This is about unlearning projection, about trying to see people as they are, not as I imagined or wanted them to be. It’s the beginning of something more honest.

** Please note: All paper works are unmatted and without frame. Images are here so you can get an idea of artwork size and possible ways to display in your home.
